Local Area

I was very good yesterday and did actually get out for my walk.  It was such a lovely day - sunny and not too cold - that it was wonderful to be out in the fresh air, and I certainly felt much better for it.  Memo to self: go out for that walk each day (if it's not pouring with rain of course) BEFORE you sit down at your laptop and get involved with your blogging world!

To prove that I actually was out and about, I took some photoes around  the area in which I live, and here they are -

The American War Memorial

The River Erme

The Vey Ancient Ivy Bridge

The War Memorial

I'm afraid that I got a bit carried away taking the photoes, but, in actual fact, it is really good to look at where you live through different eyes, and really appreciate everything  you see.  All the places in the photoes are just five minutes from where I live and were taken on a 45 minute walk of the area.

I sure am glad you got out because I loved the tour. Very pretty pictures and the kind of scenes that make you want to get out and see them over and over.

You are living in a delightful area. I enjoyed the walk!

LindyLou, yes I am very lucky where I live. We live at the foot of Dartmoor, which is a National Park, and yet the beaches are only 15 minutes away.

Congrat's on getting out and walking!! I wish I lived near a little town, like yours. It would make my walking more interesting. Instead, I live in a neighborhood that is in a rural area. The closest town is about 12 miles away!

I loved your photos!! My favorites were -- the blue door (where does it lead to?), the one with the beautiful tree with fall leaves, and the book store! (I love books!)

Hi Becky. Yes, I liked the little blue door. I expect it would be like walking into a secret garden! Yes, it's lovely having a little town nearby (we still call it a village) and yet we have the countryside all round us.

How beautiful! I would have loved to have been there taking pictures as well!! I need to get out and explore some. I moved to a new neighborhood and haven't even walked around to see anything.

This...those pictures are fantastic. Each one was better than the previous. What a lovely place you live. Ironically, Devon is Bruce's daughters name and she is gorgeous. I love the doorway in the stone wall. There is something so beautiful about stone work. The door and the bridge are beautiful. They all are. Thank you and you should take more pics. You are really good at it. Hugs!

Jumble Mash, you must go and explore your new area! You'll probably be amazed at what you discover. And don't forget to take your camera with you!

Glad you liked the photoes Barb. I find now that I'm blogging, I'm always on the look out for a good subject! Fancy Bruce's daughter being called Devon - it's a lovely and unusual name. Wonder why they chose it.

The blue door is magical. Walking does energize you and usually I walk 2 miles a day but I have injured my back raking pine straw. BTW my little camera ia a cheap point and shoot. You do live in a gorgeous area.
