Sad News

Just heard the sad news that all the 29 Miners in New Zealand are now believed to be dead, after a second explosion in the mine.  There is now little hope that anyone could have survived the second explosion, and our thoughts and prayers must now be with the families and friends of these poor men.  We had the miracle in Chile when all the miners were rescued alive, but a totally different result this time round.

Let us give thanks that our own families are safe and sound.

Hearing about it is sad enough but seeing their pictures makes it even more real and tragic. What a shame.

I just heard this today, as well. So sad. There seems to be so many mine incidents happening lately and it sure seems like more needs to be done to insure the lives of those brave men & women who risk thier lives doing this type of work. ~ I pray that thier families feel the peace that only comes from God above.

Yes, seeing their pictures makes it even more dreadful to think about.

I'm so glad you--or anyone--took teh time out to note that and think of their families and post the pictures to make them more "human" than a mere headline of "29 dead" could. It's so sad--not only with the holidays, but precisely because those families had to be thinking of the miracle in Chile and holding onto that hope from that incident....
