A couple of days ago, Just Martha over at Jelly Shane awarded me the A Blog with Substance Award. Thank you so much Just Martha - I really do appreciate that you thought of me like that.
Please pop over to see Jelly Shane, and I know that you won't be disappointed. I always look forward to reading her Blog posts. She lives in Australia and her husband (Silver Fox) went down to Brisbane to help a relative that was affected by the terrible flooding that occurred there.
Actually, I've just read a quote on her Blog, which says "Correction does much, but encouragement does more." That is so true and I am sure that this adage would work well with a lot of people, especially young offenders.
As is usually the case, this Award does come with rules, and I have to - GUESS WHAT?! - tell you seven things about myself.
1. I once swam across the River Mississipi.
2. I have seen The Sistine Chapel with its magnificent ceiling in the Vatican City in Rome.
3. A couple of years ago, I did some whitewater rafting in Colorado.
4. I did do a bungee jump, but I would never do it again. It was far too scary!
5. I have visited St Tropez in the South of France.
6. I have been on a gondola ride in Venice.
7. I have bathed in the Dead Sea in Israel.
Now comes the time when I have to pass this Award on - oh my goodness, this really does get more and more difficult, especially as a lot of the Blogs that I enjoy are 'Award Free' zones. Anyway, here goes :
This photo really doesn't do it justice, I'm afraid. |
The Creation - part of the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel |
3. A couple of years ago, I did some whitewater rafting in Colorado.
That's me (with the sunglasses on) behind the chap in the front on the left hand side |
4. I did do a bungee jump, but I would never do it again. It was far too scary!
5. I have visited St Tropez in the South of France.
6. I have been on a gondola ride in Venice.
The minerals in the salt in the Dead Sea bring therapeutic healing to the mind, body and spirit. |
Okay, I suppose I had better admit that a couple of the above facts about me are not quite true (!) . I just wanted to make myself sound a bit more exciting for you! Shady gave me the idea when he commented on the facts about me in Thursday's post, and he mentioned that I hadn't told you about the time I climbed Mount Everest (blindfolded). So I'm afraid he's the one to blame!!
Four of the facts are correct. I will leave you to decide which ones!
Oh, I am enjoying this blogging journey!

Another award - well done you! I thought they were all true! Like your little mouse at the top of the page and the new font.
Gawgus things - I have missed you commenting on my Blog! Well, most of them were true!! Thank you, I have been playing around with the fonts, and I think I like this one. Not quite so harsh at the other one.
Congratulations on your award, and for a life taking risks and having adventures! I found you though the LBS tea party. I'll certainly enjoy reading your thoughts and seeing your pictures; it's not often I find friends overseas. Now I'm going to click on one of your posts titled "trust in the light" It sounds like something a Friend would say:) P.S. your button with the Mouse from If you Give a Mouse a Cookie is very cute!
kneesandpaws - how lovely of you to visit my Blog through LBS. I do hope that you will pop by again. Yes, that little mouse is very cute, isn't he?! I shall now pop over to your Blog.
Congratulations on the award!
You've got me guessing now because they're all totally 'doable'.
I'm so happy that you stopped by today and signed on to become one of my treasured Gifters.
I look forward to sharing much with you as the year progresses,
Felicity x
You are so silly and I love it!! You totally had me fooled on ALL of these! I was thinking... WOW! This lady knows how to have a good time! ~ I don't think I'd swim across the Mississipi. Blech! ~ I would love to see the Sistine Chapel someday and visit Venice. Let's just say that I REALLY want to visit Italy someday!!! ~ I've been white water rafting. I love it and would love to go again! ~ I will NEVER bungee jump!! No way. No how!! ~ My mother-n-law has been to the Dead Sea and swam in it.
I love your new font!! Very pretty! How did you change it to this one???
Felicity - thank you SO much for dropping by. I do hope that you will come by again. I loved your Blog!
Becky - I thought it was a bit of fun. Later on, I will say which ones really were true. I'll send you an e-mail about the font!
Congratulations on a very appropriate award. You had me going on the 7 things thinking, wow I really didn't know her at all but you brought me back to reality. Have a wonderful weekend.
Odie
Are you kidding? I am thrilled to follow your blog in England. In fact I'd love to visit there again someday.
Well, two of items above I did also!
Your blog does sound like fun and happiness and I am all into that!
Nice to meet you. Thanks also for following me.
sandie
Odie - Sorry I had to bring you back to reality!! I had a bit of fun writing this post though.
Chatty Crone (love that name!! Think I should have called myself South hams witch, instead of South hams darling!!). So glad that you are now following me, and I look forward to us sharing some laughs together.
You're the devil in disguise, Thisisme! (LOL) You really had me going and I believed every word you wrote. You are a dear for passing this award on to me and I will do my very best to come up with my 7 disclosures. Thank you, my dear!
Shady - hope you're having a good weekend. It's still bitterly cold here in Devon :( Too cold to venture outside really. Well, as I said, dear friend, it was you that gave me the idea for this post! You deserve all the Awards that you get, and I shall now look forward to your 7 disclosures. Take care.
I came by to thank you for visiting me and thought'Wow!' when I read these. 'What a 'dark horse' you are!' My jaw dropped and then so did the penny.
Congratulations on yet another award. These disclosures are excellent.
Just call me Mrs Gullible.
(Eeek!)
Facing50Blog.com - Well Mrs Gullible, I hope you didn't mind me having a bit of fun today! I DID do a lot of them! (Just as a sideline, did you ever read The Gambols years ago?? I'm sure that Gaye was always saying "Eeek"!!
My goodness another award! You had me going for awhile then :) Have a great weekend and thanks for your kind words about my own blog.

Congrats on another award! I love your seven things even the ones that aren't true. It was such a good idea to fudge some of your seven things :D
Jax - Hi. Glad you thought it was a good idea to do something a little bit different.
Yeah...so which ones are true?!? They all sound amazing!
Congrats on your award, This. You are quite the popular one, huh? Well deserved!
Well done on the award - and thanks for passing it onto me. I've received this one before but honored to be included in your list of recipients this go-round!
Love your 7 things!!!!!
You so had me going! I was like, "dang, what a life you live!!!" Silly girl! :)
hed
An interesting read!! Hmmm, which ones I wonder? Doesn't really matter as it is nice to imagine you doing them all..... maybe you didn't bungee jump? I wouldn't...
I'm guessing 1,7, and 4 are not true. I will wait to see if I am right. Congrats on your award and thanks for passing it on. I have the same trouble as you sometimes, as some people I follow don't take awards. I'll just pass it on to one person I guess.
you have seen and done some amazing things
Even if all of them aren't currently true, that doesn't mean they won't be in the future! Who wouldn't want to go to at least some of those places and do some of those things? They look like fun to me (except the bungee jumping).
tHANK YOU thANK YOU !!!
After a crazy busy day, this was a fun suprise to come home to!
EVERYONE - Numbers 1, 3 and 4 were the false ones!!
Jumble - thank you. You will see which ones were false from the comments above!
Teresa - I was pleased to be able to pass the Award on to you.
Hed - we've all got to have a bit of fun sometimes, don't you think?!
Just Martha - You certainly wouldn't catch me doing a Bungee Jump. I'm not very good with heights anyway.
Belle - as you can see, you were almost right. Well done! You are more than deserving of that Award my friend.
Becca - I've been very lucky in my life so far.
On My Soapbox - you are quite right! I just MAY do those things that I haven't already done at some stage. (Although I think time is probably running out now. LOL!).
Amy - Good, I hope it was a nice surprise for you! You deserve the Award.
I'm a new follower, and I love your blog, and I don't care which 4 are true - they all put such great thoughts in my head!
Thanks for keeping it interesting!
Erika - how lovely to see you over here on my Blog, and thank you SO much for becoming a Follower. I look forward to seeing you here again.
Lovely Post Thisisme! Thanks for linking!
