As February is fast approaching, when we celebrate St Valentine's Day, I have decided to bring some romance into your lives. Therefore, from now until the 14th February, I shall be interspersing my normal posts with some romantic ones. Eat your heart out Barry White!

I'll have to admit I never saw the last two but a lot of the other were really good. I liked "A Walk to Remember", "Sleepless in Seattle", "You've Got Mail" to name a few. Should be a lot of fun going into Feb. with your posts.

This is a great change of pace, Thisisme! Unlike some men I never got what all the fuss was about when it came to actresses Demi Moore and Julia Roberts; but I was madly in love with Gwyneth Paltrow and Meg Ryan. Allow me to add the tearjerker An Affair to Remember starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr to your list as well as Love Story starring Ryan O'Neal and Ali MacGraw.

Oh, Love Actually, SkippyMom, that was a great film, and bizarrely, Dracula with Winona Ryder and Gary Oldman is one of my all time favourite 'lurve' stories..
I've seen just about all of these movies. They are good picks. Bruce is not a romantic so Valentines Day is just another day here. I miss feeling special on that day.

Odie - Who could forget Sleepless in Seattle and waiting at the top of the Empire State Building?! You've got Mail was also a good one. I used to love Meg Ryan, but you don't see her so much these days.

Becky - Hi. Hope you got to the gym today! I've had a lovely walk. I shall have to look out for Everafter on DVD as well, as I haven't seen it. I do like Drew Barrymore.

Gawgus things - I haven't seen that Dracula one. I can see that i'm going to have to stock up on all these romantic DVD's that people have suggested.
Bouncin'Barb - A lot of men, I think you will find, aren't romantic on that day. I always get a lovely card and perhaps some flowers or chocolates. I think that everyone likes to feel special, although we don't always get it!!

Olive - Yes, I love those two as well. Of course, that lovely poem that I posted a while ago (Stop all the clocks...) was in Four Weddings and a Funeral, and I rememember crying buckets!!

I was reading the comments - and I realized that I forgot to mention that we don't celebrate Valentine's Day [not to be downer or anything] but Pooldad's and my theory is we have 365 days a year to tell eachother we love one another and feel special why should the corporate demand we do it on ONE particular day.
SkippyMom, you are so right of course. It shouldn't all boil down to that one day a year. In fact, I think it puts a lot of pressure on people, especially those who perhaps are single at the moment. It really is just another very commercialized day now, but I hope you don't mind if I continue with some romantic posts leading up to the day!!
I love all these movies. I guess I would add "Notorious" on the list - Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. One of my favorites.

i also love sleepless in seattle and you've got mail. everafter is another. the princess bride is one we like here, too. of course, gone with the wind is a biggie, too. sad but some true romantic moments in it.
ron's not much for romantic movies but he'll suffer (sit) through them with me if i want him to.
Ah....romance! My oldest daughter currently has the lead role in Singing in the Rain at her college, so I attended twice over the weekend. That is also quite romantic!
